Top 3 this week
Here are our 3 favourite events happening this week
Music in the Fields - Lucknow • Aug 21 - 23
Big-name country under wide-open Bruce-County skies. Jordan Davis, Tenille Townes, Owen Riegling, Josh Ross, Big Sugar, and more light up three charity-powered nights at Graceland festival grounds. Camping, food trucks, late-night beer garden, zero stress.
Hopeville Kite Festival - Hopeville Heritage Park • Aug 23 & 24, Noon-5 pm
Look up! Monster show-kites, precision flyers, hands-on kids’ builds, live music and food vendors turn tiny Hopeville into Ontario’s sky-high spectacle. Free entry (pay-what-you-can), leashed pups welcome.
Bootlegging Lore of the Great Swamp - Greenock Swamp, Cargill • Sat Aug 23, 2 pm
Slip back to Prohibition on a guided swamp walk where costumed storytellers spill tales of rum-runners, hidden stills and daring midnight runs through Canada’s largest hardwood swamp. Spots are limited; bring boots and curiosity.
Sponsored Spotlight
Back Forty Glamping

Sleep under the stars, without giving up hot showers or Wi-Fi.
Back Forty’s year-round geodesic domes sit on a private 26-acre hillside outside Meaford, each with a king bed, kitchenette, ensuite bath, and your own hot tub (forest sauna on-site, too).
Hike Georgian Bay trails by day, stargaze through the dome’s skylight by night.
Fall weekends are already filling fast. Claim your dome now!

Community Calendar
Our Community Calendar covers Grey & Bruce Counties. It’s a large area, so if we missed an event we are sorry, we will do better next time!

Our Community Calendar was getting a bit too enthusiastic. Turns out stuffing a week’s worth of local fun into one email makes for a very long scroll.
So we’ve given it its own space! Click the button below to check out the full lineup of events this week.
Foodie Flash
Grassroots Wood Fired Pizza

Friday night plans = solved.
Follow the gravel lane east of Lucknow and you’ll hit the Morrison family farm where a hand-built wood oven blazes from 4 – 8 pm every Friday night (and Saturday night until the end of the month).
Grab a “Sassy & Simple” pepperoni pie or the veggie-stacked “Farmer” (sweet corn + smoked shoulder bacon), pair it with a local cider from the on-site bar, then wander the gardens to meet the resident goats before sunset.
Zero reservations, just field-to-fire goodness. This is a must try for any pizza lover! Check them out at Music in the Fields this weekend!
Hidden Gem of the week
Morland Place - Rockford (Grey Rd 18, just south of Owen Sound)

Think “secret garden” meets mini-Versailles: a Georgian-Regency villa, hedge maze, koi pond, and ten acres of blow-your-camera-roll flower beds.
All dreamed up and hand-built by local artisan Barry More.
There’s no ticket booth; just drop $3 in the honesty box, grab the sketched map, and wander at your own pace.
Family-friendly, picnic-ready, and open daily May–October, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
